I was selected by an artist panel of all applicants to produce the artwork for the walls of Wales Millennium Centre’s cafe, Ffwrnais, for the building’s exhibition about Climate Change through August and September 2023.

The only requirement was that the art fit the theme. I took the opportunity to demonstrate the things we can do close to home to help ease pressure on the environment while becoming more connected to the outdoors and our local community.

I illustrated twin scenes, both set in Cardiff with famous landmarks in sight, showing ways we can grow our own food, even if we don’t have our own garden, whether on the smallest balcony or windowsill, or by joining community gardening efforts or an allotment.
